Configuring Imagenation for touch screens

All Editions

If your system uses touch screens, you must configure Imagenation to respond differently by editing the Image.ini file. For example, touch screens cannot be double-clicked.

To configure Imagenation for a touch screen:

1. Using the CFG file, add the View, Zoom menu item. For details, refer to the Imagenation CFG Help (cfg.hlp) that you can request from Spicer or download from our Web site.

2. Open the Image.ini file in a text editor.

3. In the [View] section of the file, find the Confirm zoom region= keyname. After the equal sign (=), type 1. This will allow touch screen users to choose the Zoom command, select a zoom region, and then move or cancel it before the area is magnified. (They would touch inside the area to activate the zoom.)

4. In the same section, find the Single Click Activation= keyname. After the equal sign, type 1 to activate single-clicking of hotspots and annotations.

5. You can also make hotspots appear highlighted when they can be activated. To do so, find the Highlight Hotspot Range= keyname. After the equal sign, type the distance within which hotspots can be activated. (For example, within 5 pixels.) Then set Highlight hotspots when mouse down is dragged= to 1. That permits highlighting on a touch screen.

6. Save the Image.ini file, and close it.

When you restart Imagenation, the change will take effect. Those using your system will be able to use their fingers on the touch screen to drag the pointer in a box shape around the area that they want to magnify, touch hotspots to highlight and activate them, and touch annotations to reveal their text.
