The Detail window (Preference
Detail) is a small window that shows a view of the pointer location at the selected scale factor (by default 1:1).By default, the Detail window is docked in the application window.
The Reference window (Preference
Reference) is a small window that shows the entire current page and orients you by indicating (with a crossed box) what part appears in the active document window. By default, the Reference window is docked in the application window.

If you prefer, you can make either window a floating window.
To make the window float:
• Drag the window away from the edge of the program window. A highlighted area shows you a preview of the new window location.
To dock the window:
• Drag the window to the edge of the program window. A highlighted area shows you a preview of the new window location.
The Detail and Reference windows can be docked together by dropping one on top of the other.
