HPGL and Calcomp files may have port-related commands contained within them. Normally these files will also contain port definitions. For cases where they do not, you can define default port values to be used instead.
To set the default port values for HPGL and Calcomp files:
1. Choose Preference
Options.
2. Click the
beside Format.
3. Click Calcomp/HPGL.
4. Set the Resolution value to 1016.
5. Under Default Port Settings, set the X1, X2, Y1, and Y2 values.
You can set these according to the HP plotter that generated the files. Click the name of the HP plotter that generated the file to find out what values to use.

5. Under Default Port Settings, select the Scale To Port check box.
If you select this check box, the image is scaled to fit the defined port settings. If the check box is cleared, the values are used by files that do not contain their own definitions, but not necessarily as "to fit" values.
6. Click Save. Click OK.
The HPGL and Calcomp files that do not contain their own port settings are loaded with the specified port settings.
