Some AutoCAD (DXF-format and DWG-format) documents contain shape fonts. On load, Imagenation goes through the following process to resolve these font names:
1. If available, the SHX or SHP (AutoCAD) version of the font is used.
2. Otherwise, the TrueType version of the font is used, if that is available.
3. If the above two fail, the original font name is used, but an available font is substituted for the shape fonts.
The best option is to make the AutoCAD shape fonts available to Imagenation whenever possible. This generates the best display and allows you to apply pen mapping to these fonts.
To make shape fonts available to Imagenation:
1. Delete any current shape font substitutions. For details, click Deleting font substitutions.
2. Copy the shape font files from their originating directory to Imagenation's Fonts directory.
or
· Open the Image.ini file in a text editor and, in the [System] section, use the Font Search Path keyname to specify what directory path the fonts are in. You can specify more than one directory path by separating each with a semicolon. For details, click Setting the Font Search Path keyname.
Thereafter, any document you view in Imagenation that contains those shape fonts displays them correctly. You can also use those fonts with the Text, Annotation, and Dimension tools.
