Objects cannot be placed on an image until an active edit layer is added to the page using the Layer, New command. If you prefer, you can have an active edit layer automatically added to each page when a document is opened.
Note that in the SVE edition of Imagenation, edit layers are automatically added to each page by default.
To automatically add active edit layers to each page:
1. By default, the "automatically create edit layers on all pages" keyname in the Image.ini file is locked. To unlock it, you or an integrator must create a custom Image.src file, and set "automatically create edit layers on all pages=2" in its [System] section. For more information, refer to the Imagenation CFG Help (cfg.hlp) that you can download or request from Spicer.
2. When the setting is unlocked, open the Image.ini file in a text editor.
3. In the [System] section, find the automatically create edit layers on all pages= keyname. After the equal sign (=), type 1.
4. Save the Image.ini file, and close it.
When you restart Imagenation, edit layers will automatically be added to pages when you open documents.
