Using pen mask tables for printing and rasterizing

All Editions

Vector images can be complex, consisting of lines of different widths, dash patterns, and colors. Printing such complex images, especially on black-and-white printers, can be a challenge.

To improve the appearance of printed and rasterized vector images, pen map files can be created using the Spicer Edit Mask utility. These files map colors and widths to various patterns. Once these files are created, they can be selected in the Print dialog box.

To specify a pen mask table:

1. In Imagenation, choose File image\lgarrow_shg.gif Print.

In the Print dialog box:

2. Click the Options tab.

3. Under Pen Mask Table, click Browse.

4. In the Pen Mask Table dialog box, select the file to use. The file may have an .spm extension. Click OK.

5. In the Print dialog box, click Close.

The specified file will be used for printing and rasterizing complex vector images.
