Setting a print buffer size

All Editions

During printing, a memory buffer stores decompressed data from the print job. To speed up printing, increase size of this buffer.

To define the print buffer size:

1. Open the Image.ini file in a text editor.

2. In the [System] section, find the Print Buffer Size= keyname. Set the keyname to 50 percent or less of the computer's RAM. The values can be from 8 to 16384. Suggested values include 4096, 2048, 1024, 512, 256, 64, and 32.

3. Save the Image.ini file, and close it.

When you restart Imagenation, the new print buffer size is used on print.

Note that the specified buffer size can be overridden by selecting the Use Small Print Buffer check box in the Options category of the Print dialog box.
