Windows 2000 and Windows XP contain a feature which allows each user on a single machine to associate files with multiple applications. These custom file associations override the associations created during Imagenation's installation. This may prevent users from launching Imagenation by double-clicking on a document file in Windows Explorer or by choosing Open in Explorer's right-click context menu.
If you want your users to be able to open specific file types in Imagenation, each user of the computer will have to make sure that each required file type is associated with Imagenation as the default viewer.
If you do not want to specifically set these associations, you can make your users aware of file opening methods which will allow them to select Imagenation even if the file type is otherwise associated.
To open a file in Imagenation from the Windows Explorer:
1. Browse to the file location and right-click on the desired file.
2. Choose Open With and select Choose Program.
In the Open With dialog box:
3. Select Imagenation Application in the list of programs.
4. Enable the "Always use this program to open these files" check box.
Note: If you do not check this option, Imagenation will not become the default application but will still appear in the right-click context menu under Open With.
5. Click OK.
You can now double-click on the file and it will open in Imagenation.
