Demand Loading File Size=size

Purpose

Defines the minimum file size threshold above which demand loading will be used.

 

Demand Loading is used if the file size is greater than 1MB and the "Minimize Resources" option in the Optimize category (Preference > Options, image\plus_shg.gif System, Optimize) is enabled, or when the file is larger than the value defined in the Demand Loading File Size setting. Demand loading will also be used when you are viewing a file as it is being written, during scanning for example.

Purpose

Defines whether the thickness of vector lines or objects is controlled by the image information in the document or by the screen display. Turning on this setting will produce clearer rasterized dashed lines or patterns, for example, in ME10 files.

Purpose

Enables or disables the GDI+ vector engine. GDI+ rendering can be slower than regular GDI rendering so disabling GDI+ may increase performance in some cases.

Enable View While Loading =0 | 1

Purpose

Enables or disables progressive display of a raster document while it loads.

 

Demand Loading is used if the file size is greater than 1MB and the "Minimize Resources" option in the Optimize category (Preference > Options, image\plus_shg.gif System, Optimize) is enabled, or when the file is larger than the value defined in the Demand Loading File Size setting. If a document will take less than 2 seconds to fully display, view-while-loading will not be used. Additionally, only non-rotated images can be displayed in this manner. Enable View While Loading is dynamic and may be affected by other active processes under Windows. Data will display as it loads and the full display will be refreshed once the load completes.

Fast Load Size Thr=size

Purpose

Defines a threshold beyond which raster images are stored in the Group 4 format. Images smaller than the specified size are stored in a simple, compressed format that uses more memory, but is also faster to load. This setting is not used when the Minimize Resources check box is selected in the Optimize category of the Preference Options dialog box.

Image size in inches squared of the largest image to store in the simple compressed format.

Fast Scroll Mode=scroll-mode

Purpose

Enables or disables fast scrolling mode for selected formats. When enabled, a full refresh of the display is not required when panning or scrolling the file (after it is completely loaded).

Purpose

Purpose

Defines whether files with the same name but different extensions will be overwritten during batch processing.

For example, take two files in the Input directory with same name but different extensions, test.doc and test.dwf. During batch processing, both files could be converted to test.tif and the first file will be overwritten by the second. If Overwrite Batch File With Same Name is set to 0, then the original file extension is added to the output file name, resulting in two output files, test_doc.tif and test_dwf.tif.

Preview Image Size Factor=preview-factor

Purpose

Determines the size of a preview image for large raster files. This value can help decrease repaint (Fit and zoomed in 1 or 2 steps. Once you zoom in to a certain point, we switch to the actual image data which is read from disk.) or load times. The preview size is x times the display window size. The Maximum Preview Image Size setting takes precedence over the Preview Image Size Factor and can force a maximum on the preview image size.

Suggested optimal values are multiples of the Zoom Step value (default= 2) in the [View] section of the Image.ini file. 1, 2 and 4 are good options. Values greater than 4 are not recommended.

Print Buffer Size=size

Purpose

Defines the size of the memory buffer allocated for storing decompressed data during a print job.

Any value from 8 to 16384. Use 50 percent or less of your computer RAM (random access memory). Suggested values include 4096, 2048, 1024, 512, 256, 64, and 32. All values are in kilobytes.

Print Landscape=0 | 1

Purpose

Some printers have difficulty printing in landscape mode, but not in portrait mode. Use this keyname to solve that problem.

1 = When landscape orientation is specified in the Print dialog box, the printer prints the image at a portrait orientation, but rotates it by 90 degrees. The resulting print appears to be landscape but prints without any errors.
