Pen X=value units color [dash-size1 space-size1 dash-size2 space-size2]

Purpose

Defines the width, units, and color of Pens 0 through 255 for HPGL and Calcomp 906/907 files.

Values

X = integer from 0 through 255

value = width of pen line

units = pts | twips | in | ft | cm | mm

color = RGB value corresponding to the color that you want to use. Windows color tip

dash-size1 = the length of the first dash in a dashed line pattern.

space-size1 = the length of the space after the first dash in a dashed line pattern. Optional parameter, but must be used if dash-size1 is.

dash-size2 = the length of the second dash in a dashed line pattern. Optional parameter.

space-size2 = the length of the space after the second dash in a dashed line pattern. Optional parameter, but must be used if dash-size2 is.

Defaults

Pen 0=0.0 in 255,255,255

Pen 1=0.0 in 255,0,0

Pen 2=0.0 in 0,255,0

Pen 255=0.0 in 255,255,0

Editions

All except Office-View-Annotate and Scan-View-Edit

Note

Modify Pens 1 through 8 using the Vector File Read Pens category (Preference image\lgarrow_shg.gif Options, image\plus_shg.gif File, Vector File Read Pens). The rest require Image.ini file editing. Note that these settings can be overwritten by an API integration.

Pen Style = 0 | 1 | 16 | 17

Purpose

Controls the pen style so that HPGL and Calcomp are now independent. This setting affects the rasterization of the plot files and color mixing when one layer is on top of another.

For example, when a laser printer is emulated, then each color is opaque to replace the objects that appear below. When a pen plotter is emulated, then the ink of one color mixes with the ink below it in a translucent relationship.

Values

HPGL file format Calcomp file format

0 = opaque opaque

1 = translucent opaque

16 = opaque translucent

17 = translucent translucent
