To despeckle the active raster image:

1. Choose Raster ® Despeckle.

The Despeckle dialog box appears. The values last used are displayed by default.

In the Despeckle dialog box, under Speckle Removal:

2. Type the maximum Speckle Width/Length: an integer from 1 to 253.

This is the size of one side of the square area within which the speckle to remove must fit.

3. Type the Speckle Size--an integer from 1 to the square of the Speckle Width/Length number.

4. Under Hole Fill, type 0 (zero) in the Hole Size text box. Click OK.

A progress indicator appears as black specks are removed.
