The Window category of the View Options and 3D Options dialog boxes (View ® Options, Window) defines how the active document window is displayed.

The Window category of the View Preferences dialog box (Preference ® Options, image\plus_shg.gif View, Window) defines how future document windows are displayed. It does not affect the active document window.

Scroll Bars

defines how the document window scroll bars are displayed.

Horizontal

when selected, the horizontal scroll bar is displayed.

Vertical

when selected, the vertical scroll bar is displayed.

Step Size:

defines by what percentage the image scrolls when you click the scroll arrows or press the Arrow keys. If over 50, it also defines the amount scrolled when you click the scroll bars.

Position

appears in View Preferences only. The X in the grid indicates which part of the image (upper right, lower center, middle, and so on) is displayed when it first opens. This option has limited effect if one of the "Fit" scale options is selected in the Scale/Rotation category.

Zoom Step Size:

defines how much the image is magnified or reduced when you use the Magnify or Reduce commands. The value is a multiple of the current view.

Layout:

appears in View Preferences only. It defines how the document windows are displayed when first opened.

Cascaded

overlaps each document window so that the title bar of each is displayed, all windows are the same size, and the active window is on top.

Maximized

displays each document window so that it fills the program window, with the active window on top.

Reference Window

appears only when the Reference window is a child window (not floating). When selected, the Reference window is displayed.
