Scale to Gray command (View menu)

When active, View, Scale to Gray displays the active, bilevel raster image as though it were a grayscale image.

It renders the blacks and whites as shades of gray. This helps clarify some images, such as images on which text is fuzzy and difficult to read, and very dense images. At scale factors of 1.0 or more, Scale to Gray has no effect.
