You can mirror, or flip, an individual part, multiple parts, or an entire 3D model. You can use one of the preset mirroring planes or define your own.

Click Reset in the Transformations window to return the part or model to its original position. Note that only highlighted parts will return to their original position. If there are no parts highlighted, the entire model will return to its original position.

To mirror a part:

1. Choose 3D ® Model Explorer.

In the Model Explorer:

2. Select the part or parts to mirror. For details, click Highlighting Parts and Faces.

3. Choose 3D ® Transformations.

In the Mirror section of the Transformations dialog box:

4. Click:

· image\XYMirror_shg.gif to mirror on the XY plane.

· image\YZMirror_shg.gif to mirror on the YZ plane.

· image\ZXMirror_shg.gif to mirror on the ZX plane.

To mirror a part using a custom mirroring plane:

In the Model Explorer:

1. Select the part or parts to mirror. For details, click Highlighting Parts and Faces.

In the Transformations window:

2. Click Advanced.

3. Select Mirror.

Under Plane normal:

4. Set the X, Y, and Z coordinates to define a new normal for the plane. The model will mirror on the new plane.

5  Click Mirror.
