Adding dimensions to 3D models

You can place 3D dimensions on a 3D model. The dimension line will remain anchored to the model while you rotate, resize, or reposition the 3D model.

To place a dimension markup on a 3D model:

1. Choose image\3ddimen_shg.gif on the 3D Toolbar.

Dimension points appear on the model.

2. Click the start and end points for the dimension.

The dimension is displayed.

3. Click on the dimension value.

A box appears around the value. You can drag the box to make the dimension easier to read, if required.

4. Double click on the box to display the Text dialog box.

In the Text dialog box:

5. Choose the Color to use for the markup.

6. Click OK.

The Dimension tool remains active. To add another dimension markup, click anywhere on the document to reactivate the dimension points.

To delete a dimension markup:

1. Click on the dimension value.

A box appears around the value.

2. Press the Delete key.

To modify the color of a dimension markup:

1. Click on the dimension value.

A box appears around the value.

2. Double click on the box.

3. In the dialog box that appears, select a new color from the drop down list.

4. Click OK.
