Displaying the Symbols palette

 

The Symbols palette shows an image of all files that are defined as symbols and that are located in the directory defined as the symbols directory. Symbols are saved groups of vector objects that can be assigned to the Symbol tool and placed on an edit layer.

To display or hide the Symbols palette:

· Use the ShowSymbolPalette transaction (1 = show, 0 = hide)

The Symbols palette is displayed or closed. You can also use the IsSymbolPaletteVisible transaction (no parameters) to find out whether or not the window is open.

When new symbol files are added to the symbols directory, the Symbols palette is not automatically updated. To update it, you must use the RefreshSymbolPalette transaction (no parameters).
