Making the Help easier to use

This Help explains how to control Imagenation for Windows or Imagenation for UNIX by using its C API (or application programming interface). The C API permits application development that uses C to directly control many of Imagenation's features.

To get started with the C API Help:

· In Windows, double-click the Capi.hlp file in Explorer.

· In UNIX, go to the directory that contains the Help file, and type hyperhelp capi.hlp

And if necessary, click the Contents tab.

You can also find useful information in three other help files:

· Imagenation Help (image.hlp) explains all of the user interface elements, such as dialog boxes, and how to work with the Imagenation interface. Installed with Imagenation.

· System Administrator Help (sysadmin.hlp) covers all of the settings in the INI file (Image.ini by default). Installed with Imagenation.

· CFG Help (cfg.hlp) covers all settings in the CFG file (image.cfg by default), Available upon request or from the Spicer Corporation Web site, (http://www.spicer.com) under Integration Tools.

· Imagenation Tool Comparison (IM_Tool_Comparison_*.xls) is located on the Imagenation installation CD. It lists each UI command, INI keyname, SRC/CFG keyname, DDE transaction, C function, and ActiveX method, and shows the equivalents in each.

Here are a few tips that will make this help file easier to read in Windows:

· Help graphics will look better on monitors with a resolution higher than 800x600. At lower resolutions, some pixels in the graphics may not display.

· The Help is designed to be viewed with Verdana, a Microsoft font.

On UNIX, you may want to set the Help to Large Fonts display. The Large Fonts command is located in the Options menu of the main Help window.
