Microsoft changing the way ActiveX controls are handled in Internet Explorer

Microsoft is changing the way Internet Explorer handles some web pages that use ActiveX® controls.

This change may affect our Imagenation and Image a•X customers and developers that have implemented ActiveX controls.

After installing the Internet Explorer ActiveX update (new window), users will need to manually activate the ActiveX Controls by clicking each of the components that are implemented or by pressing Tab+Enter.

To design web pages so that Spicer Corporation's Image a•X controls do not require users’ manual activation, use the technique described in the MSDN article, Activating ActiveX Controls (new window).

For a sample implementation, please refer to the Integration samples and refer to the following link: Designing web pages so Spicer Corporation ® ActiveX control does not require user activation (PDF).
